Inspiring hope and dignity for children with cancer through community education, equitable access to treatment and holistic palliative care.

“Every child battling cancer deserves hope, dignity and care.”
Our vision
A nurse’s perspective
Founder Atuhaire Aurelia is a paediatric palliative care nurse with more than 15 years of nursing experience. Through her work, she saw how poverty, transport costs, stigma and isolation can break a family’s circle of care.
Little Heroes was born to complete that circle—supporting children and caregivers at the hospital, at home and throughout the cancer journey.

Our initiatives
Cancer affects every part of life. Our work is designed to answer the full range of needs surrounding a child’s care.
Community education supports early symptom recognition, referral, diagnosis and access to specialised treatment.
Hospital and home-based care responds to physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
Financial and material assistance, support groups, peer networks and bereavement support help families stay in care.
Education support and play therapy protect each child’s growth, joy and sense of possibility.

Partner with Little Heroes to strengthen awareness, treatment access and compassionate support for children and families across Uganda.
